LOVE YOUR LAKE - Echo Lake Report


In 2022, the Echo Lake Association was accepted into the Love Your Lake shoreline assessment program, developed by Watersheds Canada and the Canadian Wildlife Federation to help property owners with resources on how to maintain naturally beautiful shorelines.

Every property on the lake was assessed and each property owner received a personalized property report with details on the state of their shoreline and recommended actions for improving lake health for people and wildlife.

If you're a new property owner and would like your copy, send an email to loveyourlake@watersheds.ca with your address on Echo Lake.

Each of us has a role to play:

  • Maintain natural shorelines
  • Reduce runoff
  • Minimize boat wake
  • Limit shoreline access to designated areas with well-designed pathways and stairs to reduce erosion and maintain wildlife habitat
  • Preserve overhanging vegetation, littoral coarse wood, and habitat features including aquatic vegetation and woody debris, to maintain a healthy lake ecosystem.
